I remember the year I painted this piece as a particularly hard winter, spent mainly out west, amongst the aspens. They helped me through the cold time, standing guard, watching over me, steadfast through each long day. I held onto the promise of Spring, looking into the lamp light and beckoned the warmth of both companionship and climate.
